 About the Organisation

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) is responsible for safeguarding and promoting human rights across the country. Through its internship programmes, it aims to build awareness and develop future legal professionals in this domain.

What is This Internship About?

The Summer Internship Programme 2026 is a 4-week intensive offline programme designed to give students practical insight into human rights law and policy.

Location: New Delhi

Duration: June 1 – June 25, 2026

During the programme, interns will:

• Attend expert-led sessions

• Work on research assignments

• Participate in discussions and field exposure

• Understand real-world functioning of human rights institutions

Who Can Apply?

This opportunity is open to:

• Law students (3-year / 5-year courses)

• LLM students

• Students from disciplines like Political Science, Sociology, etc.

•  Must be from a recognized institution

•  Strong academic record preferred

•  Genuine interest in human rights

Selection is competitive and based on:

• Academic background

• Statement of Purpose (SOP)
