The National Human Rights Commission works to protect and promote human rights in India through awareness, policy engagement, and institutional action. Its internship programmes are designed to train and inspire future professionals in this field.

What is This Internship About?

The Short-Term Online Internship Programme 2026 is a 2-week virtual programme aimed at providing students with practical exposure to human rights issues and institutional functioning.

Mode: Online

Duration: May 18 – May 29, 2026

During the programme, interns will:

• Attend expert-led online sessions

• Work on research-based assignments

• Participate in interactive discussions

• Gain insights into contemporary human rights issues

Who Can Apply?

This opportunity is open to:

• Law students (3-year / 5-year courses)

• LLM students

• Students from allied disciplines such as Political Science, Sociology, etc.

• Must be from a recognized institution

• Strong academic profile preferred

• Demonstrated interest in human rights

 Selection Criteria

Selection is based on:

• Academic performance

• Statement of Purpose (SOP)

• Interest in human rights/public policy
