About the Internship

The internship programme is conducted by the Competition Commission of India as part of its advocacy and outreach initiatives. Selected interns get an opportunity to understand:

• Competition Law and anti-trust regulations

• Merger control and market regulation

• Policy research and legal analysis

• Practical functioning of a statutory regulatory authority

• Research and drafting work under senior officials of the Commission 

 Eligibility Criteria

Applications are open for students pursuing:

• Law

• Economics

• Finance

• Management

• Regulatory Studies and related disciplines

For law students:

• 2nd & 3rd year of 3-year LL.B. course

• 4th & 5th year of 5-year integrated law course

• LL.M. students may also apply. 

 Duration

Internship duration is generally 1 month.

Students may also apply for 2–3 months with proper recommendation from their institution. 

 Stipend

Selected interns are provided an honorarium of ₹15,000 per month. 

Location

The internship is conducted at the office of the Competition Commission of India in New Delhi. 

Nature of Work

Interns may be assigned:

• Legal and economic research

• Case analysis

• Drafting notes and reports

• Competition law related assignments

• Policy-oriented research work

• Assistance in ongoing projects and advocacy programmes. 

 Documents Required

Applicants generally need:

• Updated CV/Resume

• Statement of Purpose (SOP)

• Recommendation/Certification from Institution

• Academic details and marksheets

• ID proof and passport size photograph. 

 Certificate

Interns who successfully complete the internship and assigned work are awarded a certificate by the Competition Commission of India.
